Ryu has an awesome look, and it was a blast making this anime version. I learned a lot working on this. How to make custom makeup masks. How to create custom eyebrow textures. Even learned how to make a freckle brush in Photoshop. I probably spent as much time making the character as I did the animation.

This animation also didn't go at all as planned. I got stuck trying to make something different based on one of Ryu's videos. But then my inspiration wanted to go in a completely different direction and I followed along to make this. I personally really like this one. The colors are great. The character expressions are fun. Even the lighting with the yellow and blue light adding some nice gradients in the background turned out better than I expected.
Would you be able to share the scene card for this? I love it.
ReplyDeleteSadly I can't share scene cards that were commissioned works or based on real people. But I can try to revisit this chair anal idea in a later animation that doesn't fall under this constraint.
